Frequently Asked Questions | Dr. Gary C. Demetriou, DMD, North Andover MA

1. What dental insurance do you accept?

We accept most dental insurance plans and are participating providers with Delta Dental Premier, Delta Dental EPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Blue, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, MetLife, Altus Dental, Guardian, Cigna, Aetna Dental, Ameritas, Principal, GEHA and Sunlife Financial. If your plan is not on that list we are still happy to see you and will file the claim for reimbursement on your behalf, as long as your plan lets you choose your own dentist. Bring your insurance card to your first visit and our team will handle the paperwork. See our full insurance page at https://demetrioudmd.com/insurance/ or call 978-794-0010.

2. Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes. We accept cash, checks and all major credit cards, and we offer flexible payment plans that include interest free financing options. We also work with CareCredit, a third party financing company that offers an easy three step application with instant approval, so you can start treatment when you are ready instead of waiting. Our Financial Coordinator will walk you through the options before treatment begins. Details are on our financial policy page: https://demetrioudmd.com/financial-policy/

3. Can I be seen the same day for a dental emergency?

Yes. If you are in pain, have a cracked or knocked out tooth, lost a filling or crown, or have swelling, call us at 978-794-0010 and every attempt will be made to see you that same day. We handle emergencies on site, from evaluation through treatment, so you are not sent somewhere else for care. Learn more at https://demetrioudmd.com/emergency-dentist-in-north-andover-ma/

4. What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit is a consultation where Dr. Demetriou explains your diagnosis and your treatment options. Sometimes treatment can be done the same day, though a complex medical history or treatment plan usually calls for a second appointment. Please bring any previous dental records and X-rays, a list of your current medications, and your insurance card and forms. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Full details are at https://demetrioudmd.com/first-visit/

5. How much do dental implants cost and how long do they take?

Implant cost depends on how many teeth are being replaced, whether a bone graft or extraction is needed, and the type of restoration placed on top, so we quote it only after an exam and X-rays. A typical single implant is staged over several months because the implant post needs time to fuse with the bone before the final crown goes on. Many plans cover part of the treatment, and CareCredit financing is available. Learn more at https://demetrioudmd.com/dental-implants/

6. Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we welcome new patients of all ages, from children through adults, at our North Andover office at 451 Andover St. Our hours are Monday through Wednesday 8am to 6pm, Thursday 2pm to 7pm and Friday 8am to 2pm. Call 978-794-0010 or request an appointment online and we will find you the earliest time that fits your schedule. See https://demetrioudmd.com/scheduling/

7. Should I choose Invisalign or traditional braces?

Both straighten teeth, they just do it differently. Invisalign and clear aligners are removable, nearly invisible and easier to clean around, which most adults and teens prefer for mild to moderate crowding, spacing and bite issues. Traditional braces can be the better choice for more complex movements. Dr. Demetriou will look at your bite and tell you honestly which option will get you the result you want. Learn more at https://demetrioudmd.com/invisalign/ and https://demetrioudmd.com/clear-aligners/

8. Can I get a crown in one visit?

Yes. With CEREC technology we design, mill and place your crown in a single appointment, so there is no temporary crown, no second visit and no messy impression material. That means one numbing, one appointment and you leave with your permanent crown the same day. Learn more at https://demetrioudmd.com/cerec-one-visit-crowns/
